The Laboratory Planet
This commission was focused on production of The Laboratory Planet #6, titled Planetary Peasants. This 48-page publication envisions futures shaped by planetary and neo-peasant communities cultivating diverse, democratic, and habitable biotopes. The issue explores how emerging planetary imaginaries intersect with grassroots ecological practices, food transitions, and the reclaiming of soil-based knowledge. The event also featured the Soil Assembly initiative—an educational and curatorial platform promoting soil literacy in art and design. A call was made to support the translation and distribution of a Spanish edition for the COP 16 Biodiversity Summit in Cali, Colombia (October 2024), following a second Soil Assembly meeting in La Chimba, Ecuador in May 2025.
Bureau d'études developed a map of the Birth Chart of the Anthropocene that is featured as the central poster of The Laboratory Planet #6 Planetary Peasants and exhibited at the More-Than-Planet exhibition at We Are Awareness in Art, Zurich, March 19 -July 10, 2024.
