Homo Photosyntheticus lab @ UrsuLab
8 – 9 July 2023, Antre-Peaux (Bourges, France)
The Homo Photosyntheticus lab invites you to discover the algae that inhabit our rivers and oceans. Drawing on the work of two artist-researchers, Ewen Chardronnet and Maya Minder, who are investigating algae and cyanobacteria, the aim is to explore their role in the food and ecological transition.
Algae and cyanobacteria play a major role in the balance of the biosphere. The Homo Photosyntheticus lab wants to focus through its project on the fears and dangers they convey, but also on the changes that need to be made to shift this fear towards a more positive perception of this green world.
The workshop will involve meetings and discussions with the artists about global warming and algal blooms, observation of algae collected in the city's waterways, an introduction to spirulina cultivation, and the collection of recipes and tastings to help us understand these transitions in a creative, sensitive and tasty way.
